for Technical Assistance
Julie Ballinger, M.A.
Disability Rights and Issues Consultant, StarReach Enterprises
Julie Ballinger provides training and in-depth technical assistance on the ADA and disability-related issues to various employers, businesses, state/local governments, non-profits and disability-related groups. She has over 250 hours of formal training in all aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act regarding employment, state/local government, private businesses/nonprofits, and telecommunications. In the past several years, Julie has developed a specialization in ADA employment best practices.
Julie has worked in the disability rights field for over 22 years and is a person with disabilities. Before starting her consulting business in 1998, Ms. Ballinger was an Executive Director of a nonprofit that served people with all types of disabilities, which also required that the majority of staff and governing board be people with various disabilities. She successfully assured that the requirements of all Titles of the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act were fully and continually satisfied, since the organization acted as an instrumentality of State and City governments, received federal funding, was an ADA covered employer, and a public accommodation entity.
Julie is a Regional Affiliate for the DBTAC-Southwest ADA Center. Her work involves project development/implementation, outreach, and training concerning the ADA, the ADA Amendments Act, and Section 188 of the Workforce Investment Act.
